Akshay Kumar sues Paresh Rawal for ₹25 crore after Hera Pheri 3 fallout

The much-awaited return of the Hera Pheri franchise has hit another bump. Actor Akshay Kumar has reportedly filed a ₹25 crore lawsuit against co-star Paresh Rawal for abruptly quitting Hera Pheri 3 mid-production. The lawsuit, filed through Akshay’s production house Cape of Good Films, accuses Rawal of “gross unprofessional conduct” and breach of contract.

Rawal had already started shooting alongside Akshay and Suniel Shetty earlier this year. His sudden exit came after substantial production costs were already incurred. While fans speculated creative differences were behind the decision, Rawal denied this, stating he has full respect for director Priyadarshan. The reason for his exit, according to reports, is simply that he “did not feel like” continuing.

This is the first time in Akshay’s decades-long career that he has taken legal action against a fellow actor. Paresh Rawal has previously backed out of films like Billu Barber and Oh My God 2. He has also been critical of cash-grab sequels, saying Hera Pheri’s follow-ups lack the creative depth seen in franchises like Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
